Treatment for chemical dependency
Drug abuse is a serious problem in South Africa. Ramot Treatment Centre for Chemical Dependency doesn’t pretend to have the answers to the societal problems that contribute to rampant drug use but it does offer treatment for drug chemical dependents who want to make the changes they need to turn their lives around. Ramot believes that to be truly effective, for drug abuse has to be voluntary – chemical dependents have to be motivated from within to recover.
Ramot also believes in a holistic approach to drug treatment programmes. Ramot’s rehabilitation treatment programme looks at all aspects of drug addiction and how it affects the body, mind and soul.
We provide medical care to help patients through the difficult withdrawal stages, and to treat any other physical problems that result from addiction. We also have programmes to help strengthen the body after the ravages of substance abuse, including special dietary plans and biokinetics treatment. Patients undergo intense one-on-one counselling sessions and attend group therapy sessions. We offer spiritual counselling, which is not necessarily religious in nature, but which is designed to help patients find inner peace.
Part of our holistic approach to drug treatment also includes creative development so that patients can find a positive and constructive outlet to replace the overriding needs of addiction.
We believe that everyone deserves a second chance; our aim to give patients that belief in themselves.
